Gulf Island Fabrication launched Gulf Island Marine Fabricators in 2008 with a multi-million dollar expansion along the Houma Navigation Canal in Houma, Louisiana. The subsidiary specializes in the construction and repair of marine vessels with manufacturing efficiency and the Gulf Island Fabrication commitment to quality craftsmanship, evidenced by one of the lowest repair rates in the industry.

One important feature of our marine fabrication yard is a new dry dock with 9,000-ton capacity and 140 feet between wing walls. Advanced automated technology allows for material cutting, blasting and painting, and single-sided panel welding. Gulf Island Marine Fabricators also has access to all of the facilities, equipment and resources of Gulf Island, LLC.

Located at mile 34.5 on the Houma Navigation Canal with a 15-foot draft, Gulf Island Marine Fabricators has direct access with no overhead restrictions to the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.
