John P. “Jack” Laborde
Chairman of the Board
Jack Laborde is Chairman of the Board of Gulf Island Fabrication and has served as a Director since 1997. Mr. Laborde is also President of Overboard Holdings, LLC, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Mr. Laborde also served in varying capacities of the Company from 1992 to 1996 and as an engineer for Exxon, Ocean Drilling & Exploration and Murphy Oil. Mr. Laborde is son of co-founder and former director, Alden J. "Doc" Laborde.
Kirk J. Meche
President, CEO and Director
Kirk J. Meche became Chief Executive Officer in January 2013. Mr. Meche has served as President since January 2009. He served as Chief Operating Officer from January 2009 to December 2012 and in other management capacities since 2001 leading various divisions within the Company. Prior to that, Mr. Meche served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Southport, Inc., a wholly owned fabrication subsidiary of the Company, from 1999 to 2001. Mr. Meche also served as a project manager of the Company from 1996 to 1999. Prior to his employment with Gulf Island, Mr. Meche served in various capacities with McDermott International, including Structural Engineer, Hull Engineering Supervisor, and Project Manager from 1985-1996.
Murray W. Burns, PE
From 1980 to 2013, Murray Burns served various executive capacities for Technip USA, Inc. and its affiliates. Mr. Burns also served as Project Manager with Petro-Marine Engineering, Inc. and with Shell Oil Company in varying engineering capacities. Mr. Burns now provides consulting services with Synergen, a professional consulting services firm with specialization in construction, engineering, architecture, and financial-related services. Mr. Burns has served as a Director of Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. since 2014.
William E. “Bill” Chiles
Bill Chiles is Senior Advisor and CEO Emeritus of Bristow Group, Inc., a publicly traded and leading provider of international helicopter services to the offshore oil & gas industry. Bill joined Bristow in 2004 as CEO, President and a board member after a 32-year career in the offshore oil & gas drilling business including management positions at Grey Wolf, ENSCO, Cliffs Drilling and Chiles Offshore. Mr. Chiles is now a Managing Partner of Pelican Energy Partners, a private equity fund focused on investments in energy services and manufacturing companies. He has served as a director for Gulf Island Fabrication since 2014. Mr. Chiles is also Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
Gregory J. Cotter
Gregory Cotter is a Wealth Management Consultant and has served as Director since 1985. Mr. Cotter served as Director and in varying executive officer positions at Huey Wilson Interest, Inc. and in other leadership positions throughout his career at publicly-traded companies engaged in banking and retail. Mr. Cotter is also Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Michael A. Flick
Michael Flick served various executive capacities within First Commerce Corporation and First National Bank of Commerce, including Chief Credit Policy Officer, CFO and CAO from 1970 to 1998. He has served as Director since 2007 and as Chairman of the Governance & Nominating Committee.
Christopher M. Harding
Christopher Harding was former Senior Vice President of Horton Wilson Deepwater, Inc. from 2012 to 2014, former President of Americas GL Noble Denton, Inc. from 2009 to 2012, and former Executive Vice President of Technip USA, Inc. from 1999 to 2004. Mr. Harding was Founder and President of Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants. Mr. Harding brings significant EPC experience to the Company. Mr. Harding has served as Director since 2007 for Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc.
Michael J. Keeffe
Michael Keeffe is a retired Senior Audit Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Keeffe served a number of clients in the engineering and construction, shipbuilding and fabrication sector during his tenure at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Keeffe has served as Director since 2014 for Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. and is also a Financial Expert of the Audit Committee.
Ms. Richard has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, including service with upstream, offshore drilling and related companies. She served in various leadership roles for Conoco Phillips, as well as Vice President of Human Resources for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. She also served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Information Technology for Transocean Ltd. Ms. Richard currently serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of SBM Offshore. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Murray State University, Kentucky.
